It was my first web browser about 13 years ago, but that's life.

Greetings from Quito - Ecuador

Raúl Larenas M:. Yes, Netscape 4 is a nightmare, but it's such a nightmare that it's just not worth catering for. NN7 (well, 7.1+) is fairly easy to cope for if you need to, but in my experience the user numbers are so low as to again make it not worth bothering with. Beyond that (NS8,9) they're just Firefox 1.5/2 at the core so there's no extra burden in supporting them. Well, assuming you support Firefox :)

As for being able to download them, well, if people who weren't developers were doing that then we'd see it in the stats, and we don't.

Re: Rest in Peace, Netscape

I so knew this was going to come.

So after Netscape 4 and Netscape 7 which still creates headaches for webdesigners we now have another Version that will make webdesinger's life harder in 3 years and beyond.

What I think is the worst thing of all that they're still going to let people download NN 4 and all the other crappy versions of their browser.

Even if Mozilla came out of Netscape. It just should be forbidden to download any Netscape browser. This is worse than Microsoft!
