Hi Al, thanks for your comment on my LJ, but I had to delete that post because it was a duplicate (I didn't want to to think I had deliberately deleted your comment). I am studying Buddhism for my MA at the moment, and am realising that it doesn't have the spirit/matter divide found in the West, so now it is making more sense to me. I am so interfaith (whilst still utterly rooted in a Pagan love of the Earth) that I don't know where I'm headed. Anyway, I'm deeply grateful to Buddhism for the ideas of dependent arising and non-theism, which solved my dilemma.
